Vascular Access Nurse

If so, you might be the right candidate for our Vascular Access Nurse at Rush University Medical Center.
The Vascular Access Nurse expertly provides and coordinates IV therapy and care for a group of patients that includes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
The Vascular Access Nurse serves as a role model for other clinical nursing staff and collaborates with the Interventional Radiology Team.
Assesses patient status
Plans the delivery of IV access for patients in coordination with the healthcare team.
Implements nursing and prescribed medical interventions and evaluates patient/family response to treatment.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the IV nursing plan of care.
Contributes to teamwork within the team/division of nursing
Participates in quality improvement processes
Position Qualifications Include:
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
Baccalaureate degree in nursing required or Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Minimum two years previous PICC experience.
Current BLS certification required. ( American Heart Association or American Red Cross only)
Vascular Access Board Certified, VA-BC required and/or Certified Registered Nurse Infusionist, CRNI.
Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, PICC certificate or PICC insertion experience required.
CPUI (Certified PICC Ultrasound Inserter) preferred.
