Student Recruitment Manager
The Student Recruitment Manager plans, coordinates and evaluates all aspects of recruitment for Rush Graduate College. This role uses benchmark data, analysis, and research to determine and evaluate return on investment and an overall recruitment strategy. This role oversees prospective student communications and outreach programs for a diverse applicant pool. This role requires travel during peak recruitment periods.
Managing all on and off-campus events
Strategic relationship building, and alumni relations
Represents the college during school visits, campus tours, recruitment workshops, fairs and events.
Provides prospective students counseling in different on and off-campus settings. Participates as a team member in planning such events.
Assists in organizing outreach and recruitment activities and related logistics, such as presentations, room bookings, and other related tasks.
Provides event management support for both on and off-campus recruitment events involving the community; provides support as required in developing the marketing plan for each event.
Assists with the Pipeline Programs by maintaining an accurate database and records of communication.
Travels to represent the Graduate College at regional and national recruiting fairs and may conduct select campus visits based on Graduate College priorities or at the request of the GC Leadership.
Represents the College at recruitment conferences, career fairs, workshops and other special events; speaks about the College and admissions.
Liaises with regional schools and institutions and coordinates student and faculty travel to represent the GC, including but not limited to SACNAS, ABRCMS and other conferences/events.
Responds to walk-in, email, phone call, and other outreach queries.
Implements on- and off-campus interviews and other recruitment efforts, including planning, generating and confirming faculty/staff/student participation and following up with applicant attendees.
Provides quality management for all recruitment materials including printed materials and website.
Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop effective program brochures, program inserts and related promotional materials for use on interview days and recruitment travel.
Updates web materials for admissions and recruitment including interacting with the admissions software vendor to alter materials as needed.
Organizes admissions committee meetings and tracks admissions data.
Assists GC Leadership in maintaining a budget and conducting ongoing reviews of travel activities related to admissions and recruitment.
Assists GC Leadership with the implementation and maintenance of the admissions and recruitment strategy for Rush Graduate College, including the planning, coordination, implementation and ongoing evaluation of all on and off-campus admissions and recruitment related activities/events.
Liaises with different divisions in Student Life to organize all the elements pertaining to recruitment; reports back on progress.
Collaborates and works in a collegial manner with the Offices of Multicultural Affairs and Community Outreach to promote and further develop the diversity and inclusion goals of the GC and RUMC.
Oversees tracking and monitoring system to evaluate recruitment strategies and to optimize recruitment activities and communications. Ensures accurate and meaningful reporting.
Manages recruitment records and databases including the development of a follow-up system for prospective students.
Compiles reports regarding student recruitment programs as requested; reports on undergraduate visits and other recruitment events/activities.
Performs other related assignments as required.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience in higher education admissions and recruitment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a highly professional demeanor.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience managing data in a student information system or customer relationship management database.
Strong time-management/organizational skills desired to plan, implement and evaluate numerous (and sometimes simultaneous) recruiting activities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to build and maintain a positive team environment and culture.
Ability to support a diverse population of prospective students, community constituents, staff, faculty and other parties.
Outgoing and ambitious with a strong desire to work with and assist students.
Ability to work under pressure and follow-through tasks to completion.
Proven ability to set and maintain a standard for a high volume of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to carry boxes averaging 20-30 lbs. with a handcart.
This position will require extended hours and occasional travel, in particular during peak recruitment periods; travel required is country-wide and includes overnight stays/occasional weekends.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong public speaking skills and the ability to engage large and small groups in a variety of settings.
