Summary:

Equal Hope is a non-profit sitting on the Rush University Medical Center Campus. Equal Hope is dedicated to eradicating women’s health racial, ethnic and class disparities and is a mission-oriented healthcare justice organization. Equal Hope is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Manager to lead our community health workers (CHWs) and oversee community partnerships and events. The Community Engagement Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that CHWs are properly trained to engage with and serve the community effectively while coordinating with Equal Hope's Social Media Manager to amplify community engagement efforts.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in public health, community health, social work, or a related field

• Experience in community engagement, community organizing, or public health outreach.

• Knowledge of community health worker programs and best practices.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of health disparities and social determinants of health.

• Data management and analysis capabilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

• Commitment to health equity and community empowerment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and presentation software.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the community health workers, providing guidance, support, and training on community engagement best practices.

• Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities and outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes.

• Conduct performance evaluations of outreach team members and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.

• Develop and implement training programs for CHWs to enhance their skills in community outreach, health education, and advocacy.

• Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to enhance community health initiatives.

• Organize community events, health fairs, workshops, and outreach activities to promote health education and awareness.

• Conduct assessments to identify the health needs and priorities of the community and develop tailored programs to address them.

• Advocate for the needs of underserved populations and work towards health equity in the community.

• Identify funding opportunities and resources to support community health programs and initiatives.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives and make data-driven improvements.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align community engagement efforts with organizational goals and objectives.

• Coordinate with Equal Hope's Social Media Manager to develop and implement communication strategies that amplify community engagement activities on social media platforms.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and accreditation standards in community engagement activities.

• Build the capacity of CHWs to engage with the community and provide culturally competent services.

• Promote preventive health practices, screenings, and access to healthcare services within the community.

• Identify and nurture emerging community leaders to advocate for health and social issues.
