Director of Enterprise Risk Management, Rush System for Health
Rush University Medical Center presents an exciting opportunity for a Director of Enterprise Risk Management for the Rush System for Health. The Director will have responsible for enterprise-level risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting efforts throughout the Rush system. The Director will work closely with business partners and senior leadership to lead efforts to analyze, quantify, and communicate risks throughout the organization. In addition, the Director will lead the enterprise risk management work group and will lead efforts to build an enterprise risk management IS system and dashboard to easily view and monitor risk metrics throughout the system. Further develops and implements an enterprise risk management program across the Rush system in partnership with the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer.
Conducts highly complex enterprise risk management work and analysis that is critical to the organization’s operations.
Actively partners with risk domain leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise risks.
Facilitates the development of risk appetite statements and enterprise risk tolerances for the Rush system and all identified risk domains.
Partners with senior leadership to integrate enterprise risk analytics into business operations throughout the Rush system.
Serves as the lead for the enterprise risk management work group that serves as an open forum for risk domain leads to discuss risks, further enhance the risk culture, and facilitate risk discussions across domains.
Leads efforts to analyze, quantify, and communicate enterprise-level risks to senior leadership and the Board.
Leads the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise risk dashboards and risk platform to monitor risk.
Facilitates the quarterly Board reporting process, including development of reports to advise the Board on current risk levels, emerging risks, and Rush’s risk appetite.
Helps develop and monitor enterprise risk management plan initiatives.
Assists with the development and maintenance of enterprise risk protocols across the organization.
Proactively educates leaders and business partners on enterprise risk management concepts, processes, and assessments.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline and/or a JD is required.
Five years of enterprise risk management experience is strongly desired.
10 years of work experience in the healthcare industry is strongly desired.
National risk certification preferred.
Knowledge of a RMIS system preferred.
Ability to quickly build credibility and trust by actively demonstrating subject matter expertise.
Strong data collection and analysis skills.
Proficient in designing and producing high quality reports and presentations through PowerPoint.
Proficient in Microsoft applications and Tableau.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience processing, reviewing, and triaging multiple demands, with the ability to shift priorities as needed.
Ability to influence, negotiation, and lead change.
